Metro RTA has new chief culture officer: Tatia Harris

The Akron Metro Regional Transit Authority has a new chief culture officer who will be responsible for working on workplace culture at the county’s public transportation provider.

Tatia Harris’ position includes enhancing, adapting and solidifying, equity and inclusion initiatives; training, planning and fostering an equitable, sustainable culture; and forging productive partnerships, the agency announced last week.

Harris most recently was the diversity and inclusion officer for the city of Knoxville, Tennessee, overseeing an internal equity committee that works to create and sustain a culture of inclusiveness, respect, acceptance and opportunity, according to Metro.

“We are confident that Tatia is the right candidate for this position,” Metro CEO Dawn Distler said in a statement. “With her experience in communication and high-quality diversity work, Tatia will cultivate inclusion throughout the workplace and be an advocate for across Metro.”
